The Department of Education is trying its best to provide Quality Education in the district, and also to provide required infrastructures for the schools and adequate teachers to the schools. In this regards every endeavor is being made to provide schooling facility at easy reach to every children. However, without the active and positive participation of the people of this district, the Department cannot provide the quality education to the children. The Department appealed all the people of this District to extend their help to the Department of Education in imparting Quality Education to the children. Towards this I request all the District Heads, Panchayati Raj Members, and villagers to take active participation in Monitoring, Supervision and Implementation of the various time bound schemes under SSA, under the Department of Education.
The Department of Education is ready to extend any kind of help to further the cause for quality education and such kind of innovations.
ACTIVITIES UNDER DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
The Department of Education, besides its normal activities like running the academic session and conducting the examinations in the schools, has been entrusted with other 2(two) major programmes sponsored by the Govt. of India.
RASHTRYIYA MADHYAMIK SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (RMSA)
This programme is being started by the Govt. of India. Under this programme, the Secondary and Senior Secondary Education shall be supported. Various schemes like National Programme for Incentive for Girls in Secondary Schools, Infrastructure Support to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools and also a Base Line Data regarding the Infrastructure, Enrollment, Staffing and Teachers for the Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools is being collected. In the District l(one) District Coordinator is appointed to look after the programme and implementation of RMSA.
SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (SSA)
This Programme was started in the year 2000, with the objective of providing basic minimum education up to the elementary level to all the children between the age group of 6 to 14 years. Many programmes like Recruitment of Teachers, Infrastructure Support to the schools, Openning of EGS and AlE Centres for the children who are not in the school due to accessibility problems and also providing of free text books have been implemented. Further special focus has been given to the education of Girls and therefore many schemes specially for girls like Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), National Programme for Education of Girls in Elementary Level (NPEGEL), and Pratibha Khoj is beng implemented under SSA.
